March Break has been a hectic one around our house. It might be that way for you too, or maybe the change in routine means some extra free time. Whichever your situation looks like, a great reminder from a dear friend of mine will, I hope, resonate with you and hold true for students as well: it doesn’t matter what setting we are in, every adult and every child has the opportunity to be a positive influence, all the time.

The character education Thinking Forward brings to Toronto schools is designed to bring about an end to bullying. The principles of developing one’s responsibility, joining together in collaboration and taking initiative in making a difference are not limited to children, nor do they need school to be in session to be great practices. Whether we’re spending extra time in our neighbourhood, or at a day camp or even while on vacation, these things all make an inward and an outward impact! So even while I’m busy, or next time you get a chance to relax, we can still be part of building a stronger community.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for considering your own contribution to what Thinking Forward is doing (see the ‘donate’ and ‘get involved’ tabs at the top of this page). I’ll see you soon – I’ve got to go round up some library books that are due today…
